decision making
so after the first 10 minutes of observing how the discussion went, i quickly sat back and became "avoidance". it was a disasater, the face that it needed 100% consense made it very difficult to decide something. so i figure i would just sit back and let everyone else do the fighting and just participate in the last 10 - 20 minutes if the result doesnt satisfy me. however it ended up ok except for the essay part. but just as i wanted to say something, the couple infront of me was yelling out "no we are not changing the essay, no way!" so i just gave up and sat back since it needed 100% consense. i remember that close to the end when we voted one of the guy was disagreeing and we couldnt get 100%. then one of the girl said "he doesnt matter, we dont need him", i was so stunned by how stupid that sounded. i was thinking" oh my god, of coz we need him, we do need 100% afterall, now he is never gonna change after you piss him off". if i can choose to do this decision making again i would still be avoidance because i wouldnt wanna get into that mess, the trouble wasnt worth it.

yea, that was a disaster. i was astounded that we even came to an agreement by the dead line. I think the class was so confused because we had alot of wanna-be leaders especially toward the end. We need more compromisin and less dictating.
I know what you mean. The class was chaos. I was a kind of passive when we were discussing about the proposal. It seemed really hard to get in those conversation among students. I was even afraid to do that because some people was so excited and they were yelling each other. Also, we wasted lots of time to talk about proposal without any plan and leaders at the beginning.
However, I think we learned something through this activity. that is an organized strategy for better result. Also, the role of leader was important because she/he must have ability to control many people in order to approach to the goal. On the other hand, I am satisfied with the proposal. To be honest, I was afraid of getting out of time without any proposal. but I am glad our proposal was accomplished . :)
Yes indeed it was a disaster and basically the decisions were made by few and agreed upon by all. Maybe next time everyone will have an individual say and not be over powered by other such as in your case. Hey in the end the decision kinda sorta benefited all of us.
i agree with what you have to say but sometimes people just dont care about anything or anyone else. Some times people are selfish and only want what is good for themselves
It is interesting how everyone who responded to my comments are either avoidance or compromise, people with similar personality do get close together huh?
I do agree, Mervin and Mira, this decision making excercise definitely benefit all of us, since we all gain experience and more importantly, grade bonus.
